I was asked to send in a pack of my Roses thank you cards to the Independent ‘IndyBest’ last week.   And I was very happy when I was told that my cards were chosen for the top 12 best Thank you cards!  They appeared on their IndyBest section of the blog – made my week that did!

Interview with Country Days blog

Hi Everyone,

I hope you’re all well?  At the beginning of February I was interviewed for the Country Homes and Interiors blog ‘Country Days’.  Which was a lovely surprise to be contacted out of the blue by Tara King, who is the Style Editor at the magazine.  See the link below to go to the blog.

This month seems to have gone so quickly and I’m now doing a bit of a catch up on my blogging.  I’ve been busy working on my freelance side of things, along with a spot of baking (yum).  I can’t wait until next month to see more flowers pushing through the ground and brightening up the place!  Plus keeping fingers crossed for a bit of sun….

Say hello to Beetroot Press… | Country Days.

Happy new year 2014

Hello and a slightly belated Happy new year to you all!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a good start to 2014?

Enchanted Christmas 2013 initial select-3

I’ve been sent a couple of photos from our christmas fairs, and pop up shop in Kew Gardens with Want Need Love.  Above is Juls helping out on the stall at Chipping Campden Festive fair, he even got into the Cotswold Journal!  (But I wasn’t quick enough to get a copy).

want need love Kew christmas market 2013

This is the pop-up shop in Kew Gardens at their Christmas market event which ran for a whole month.  Looks gorgeous doesn’t it!  The girls from ‘Want Need Love’ were running it, and had selected some lovely items from various artists.  Beetroot Press had the animal illustrations, lavender pillows and cards there.

I’m currently trying to find the time to work on mood boards to develop some new designs for the range while freelancing and trying to organise my storage and filing.  There’s already a couple of new animal illustrations to add to the range later in the year.  I’ll do my best to add some sneak peek photos for you all.  But for now, I wish you the best year yet, with lots of happy days and peaceful nights.

Folksy | Meet the Maker

Hello everyone!  As you probably know I sell on Folksy, the modern British craft site  and the nice people at Folksy were kind enough to feature me on their blog in their ‘Meet the Maker’ feature!  They interview me on my inspirations, working day and studio space.  To see the whole interview have a peek at the link here: Meet the Maker…Sarah Papworth from Beetroot Press.

Press – Fabulous magazine.

The Beetroot Press Garden Birds tea towel was in Fabulous magazine the Sunday before last (October 20th 2013)  Very exciting to see.  I was able to walk to my local shop and pick up a copy of the Sun (Fabulous magazine is the Sunday supplement mag) to have a peek.

I was then so happy to find that the Garden Birds tea-towel had got ‘Editor loves’ badge pinned on.  How lovely!

Good Homes November 2013 Issue

As I mentioned earlier in the blog Good Homes Magazine were kind enough to have me over to stay for their November issue.  I have scanned in the pages for those who cant get out to buy it, I’m hoping you are able to read the text on here.

About the shoot:  The day before the photoshoot I had been running around getting the barn ready for the Photographer; Bridget, and Maxine the Stylist, whilst suffering from a horrible bug!  Luckily I had some lovely flowers left over from a gift which are the ones used in the photographs, Maxine and Bridget were extremely self-sufficient and I didn’t really have to do anything on the day apart from a bit of tea making!

Maxine would set up the first shot, then while Bridget photographed it Maxine would be on with the next set up making sure they moved quickly to enable them to complete the shoot in a day, and to make the most of the natural light.

I was aware of what to expect as I have been on many homeware photo-shoots before when I worked in London for BHS, and have organised quite a few and even art-directed occasionally.  It was completely different though as it’s all your own possessions and so harder to see how it will turn out afterwards…plus I’m not usually in the shots!

It was an enjoyable day, something different from the norm and I’m so please with how it turned out.  I hope you enjoy the read about our home! x

Good Homes magazine: Cosy in the country

Hello Beetroot Press friends!  If you happen to buy Good Homes magazine this month (Nov 2013 issue), you’ll find pictures of my home and article inside.  My very kind friend sent me these images yesterday from her iphone, but I’ll be trying to pick up a copy this weekend (not so easy now I’m not in London, local shops don’t really stock homeware mags), and I’ll scan it in and post afresh.

Tuinieren dutch gardening magazine

The new Dutch gardening magazine, Tuinieren has included the Beetroot Press linen tea towels in their August 2013 issue 7.  Very exciting!
