Original British bird paintings

Hello everyone,

It’s almost time you can bag yourself some original birdie art to hang in your home (or give as a Christmas pressie).

The 8, mixed media watercolour and pen, bird paintings will be posted and ready to go on Sunday 1st November 2015, at 7pm GMT in my Folksy shop.  Here’s the link:  Beetroot Press Folksy shop.

As this is my first time selling my actual paintings, I’m going to sell them for £25.00!  (wow I hear you say)

I’ve scanned the paintings in, so will be adding them all on here later on so you can have a good look before they are added to the online Folksy shop on Sunday.

Chipping Campden Christmas market

Hello again, the Upton House Christmas market went well last weekend.  I took a few snaps before the visitors started arriving.  They had Santa’s grotto and carol singers, and their own little shop was full of nice things to buy.

This coming Saturday 7th December 2013 we will be in the Cotswold town of Chipping Campden selling at the Christmas market there.

I found this old postcard of Chipping Campden, and have to say it looks pretty much the same still!   The market will be open on Friday 6th at 3pm till 8pm, then again on Saturday 10am until 5pm (we will only be there on the Saturday).

I hope the weather is better on saturday as it’s very blustery out there today, all my prints and cards will blow away!  The Deer print above is a new addition and will be making his debut at the fair on Saturday – (he’s a bit scared so please be nice to him).  Pop along if you are near by and say hello.

Tinsmiths in Ledbury

tinsmiths shop ledbury

I had been wanting to visit this shop for ages, and then to my delight I realised it is only about 50 minutes away from my new(ish) home in the Cotswolds.  It’s home is the market town of Ledbury, near the Malvern hills, which is close to Worcester, Gloucester and Hereford itself.  I went just before Christmas last year 2012 to have a look around and to see the shop.

It’s a pure joy to visit, I had been feeling a bit starved of good design-wares and had needed the visual fix!  Tinsmiths sell a range of fabrics by the meter from linens to cord, upholstery fabrics, all very high quality.  I bought some ticking fabric in duck egg for a stocking I made for my friends baby last Christmas. They also stock St Judes fabrics and prints, which I absolutely love to bits.  Within the shop they also sell homeware, useful items which are beautiful and timeless; Cushions, blankets and throws, clocks, rugs, kitchenware, dining, design led tea-towels, stationary, hardware, baskets, Lighting and Artist prints including Mark Hearld, Emily Sutton and Angie Lewin.  Even if you visited just to see the actual building, you’d be impressed.  To find out more about Timsmiths look here.

Ledbury in itself is a lovely old fashioned feeling town with tudor style buildings.  There’s a number of butchers, bakers, chocolate shops, delicatessen and pubs to choose from.  Other shops include an organic food store, and a lovely cider shop called Three counties cider, where you can take the tap cider or perry home in a 4 pint ceramic jug which can be used over and over, or bring your own vessel to use.

There is also a market selling locally made produce, home grown foods, free range eggs, baked goods, chutneys, jams, flowers.

Perfect place to visit for a bit of (dare I say it) Christmas shopping!
